about

In chronological order, the entire third year catalog of blongs (blog songs) from the industrious current and political event "song blog" site www.thepressjunket.com (November 2012 through December 2013). For those not familiar with it, thepressjunket.com, previously known as ipoetblog.com, is an experiment in contemporaneous social and political commentary set to music. The songs are written, recorded, and published typically within hours of the events they depict. They are posted at the site along with written narrative. Due to the time constraints under which they are produced, the songs are not susceptible to professional grade mixing and mastering. For the integrity of the exercise, they have not been modified from their original sonic condition for purposes of this commercial release. So levels from song to song, and even within each song itself, may very greatly. Even painfully so. Suck it up. You're a witness to history. The ipoetlaureate dba sintax.the.terrific dba Huckleberry Spins dba Tom Lawyer dba Ludwig von Beatshoven dba Mark Slang dba Samuel L. Rhythms dba Rap King Cole wanted the songs available precisely as the circumstances of their creation allowed, even in all their imperfection. These songs represent a real-time snapshot. A time capsule of sound.
